Delete your
Vid8 account.
Use this page to request that your Vid8 account is deleted. Deleting the account also deletes associated personal data. You do not need the app installed.
To request deletion of associated data only, use the data deletion page. See also our Privacy Policy. Support: info@vid8app.com.
Request deletion in writing. Send a message from the email address on your account using our contact form (info@vid8app.com) with the topic “Delete my account.” We will verify that you control that address, then delete the account. We respond within 30 days. Please do not include passwords or payment card numbers.
Delete it yourself
If you can still sign in, deletion is immediate and does not wait on email:
- In the Vid8 app: Profile → Account → Delete my account.
- On this website: Log in, then Account → Security → Delete account.
What is deleted
When we complete a deletion request we:
- Remove your profile from Discover immediately.
- Delete your profile details, prompts, interests, preferences, roster entries (yours and others pointing at you), passes, votes, and notifications.
- Revoke sessions and sign-in links, and unlink Google or Apple identities.
- Cancel pending or live Spark Meets and close your conversations.
- Replace your email address, password hash, and date of birth on the account record with placeholders so the record can no longer identify you.
- Remove your photos and introduction video from our storage systems within 30 days.
What we keep, and why
We retain only what we must, as described in the Privacy Policy:
- Blocks and reports — so a deleted account cannot erase a safety record, generally up to 24 months after the account is closed, or longer for an ongoing investigation or legal hold.
- Messages you already sent — they remain in the closed conversation and in the recipient’s history.
- Invoices and subscription records — up to seven years, for tax and accounting.
- Audit logs and an internal account identifier — so we can honour blocks and prevent a banned person from returning.
Deleting your account cancels a Stripe subscription at the end of the current billing period. If you subscribed through an app store, you must also cancel there.
How long it takes
Self-serve deletion in the app or on the website takes effect immediately. Written requests through the contact form are completed within 30 days of verification. Media files are purged from storage within 30 days of the account being deleted. NorthLo Software Consulting operates Vid8 at vid8app.com.
